NEW INFO ON CO-OWNS:

First let me say.....STOP PURCHASING ON CO-OWNS WITH THIS BREED'S NAYSAYERS....Make sure your contract includes our registry or you are going to be sunk for a while until you move away from those dogs.   Keep pups from those dogs if you are already drowning from an outrageous co-own contract and just remember lessons in life aren't free.   Do not continue breeding those dogs and compounding your problems.  Let those breeder's programs go on off and go its own way without you.   These are ongoing examples as to  precisely why our club leadership keeps saying "WE REST OUR CASE" as to why this breed was going no where in the hands of the past "clubbers".   Some of those breeders are now refusing to allow co-owns to move into NAS so therefore you can see their motives were never about campaigning this breed but instead....CAMPAIGNING THEMSELVES.    The problem folks within this breed are exposing themselves right and left now due to their desperation and hopefully they will get even louder about it so all will know who they are!!   Due to some of the seemingly despirate actions of some NAMASCUSA members we are even concerned about the validity of the NAMASCUSA registry since it has had many "registrars" (non-professional) along the way under different club names and who knows about some of the pedigrees?  Possibly the DNA process within our registry is what is scaring some of the members of those old mini clubs to death about us???  Rightfully so because DNA will take place on every DAM and STUD prior to litter registration as long as we are at CDHPR.   When we move to UKC and ALL foundation dogs have DNA we will lighten up a bit but still not as light as AKC regulations.   Still analyzing that part of our contract issues.   Many of the GREAT old time "mini clubbers" are coming on board with us now because they see the books will close quickly on the breed.  We aren't holding books open just for naysayers as that group has held this breed back way to long already.   We are anxious to move on into the UKC family of breeds quickly!!  Also, there are some dog regulations out in Calif that are coming down the pike possibly whereas dogs that are not registered with either UKC or AKC (no other registries accepted) must be neutered/spayed or breeders face large fines.   The good thing is that if your dog is registered with one of those top two registries  you can dual enroll in registries like ASDR or APRI and show on their show circuits in rare breed without fear of reprisal resulting from local dog ownership laws/rules/regulations.    I fully expect the rare breed show circuit to expand thru those two organizations and as far as the OLD MINI CLUBS????   Well.....they may just "mean-spirit" themselves right on off into the sunset.   Regarding our breed??   It is SUNRISE  all the way for this wonderful 40 year old breed with its own official name separate and apart from any other breed.  Our dogs deserve that....they are THE BEST......our members are dedicated to their preservation......and protecting their offspring from the hands of puppy mills.  Puppy mills will not be able to keep up with our stringent DNA requirements as ours will exceed those of AKC.  We will spend much ink on educating against the practice of selling breeding rights without conscience because we are the only voice for these precious fur children and a puppymill is hell on earth for them.  One can be a "puppymill" with just a few dogs and  "great breeders" can have many dogs but our website may be a resource for  reporting verifiably PROVE TO BE TRUTHFUL stories of inhumane animal treatment within our breed. We reiterate.... PROVEN stories.   North American Shepherds are without a doubt the smartest and healthiest breed with the fewest medical issues ever to enter a major registry and they WILL be treated with the respect they deserve!

Go to CDHPR.com and you will see our breed listed if you click on "breeds enrolled".   Notice we demonstrate a North American Shepherd with a tail (breed standard allows for docks, natural bobs and tails with no preference).  One thing that we have realized is those having Compuserve servers and possibly AOL also may have to go thru Internet Explorer to view the CDHPR website.  For some reason Compuserve gives us a blank screen which seems to be a pattern with that server as often certain portions of other websites are blocked by Compuserve??  Those doing newspaper advertisements often can not add photos from their browsers thru Compuserve??  So, just in case CDHPR appears blank it is the fault of your server as their website is in working order.   It has been a real project getting all the dogs and members into the database but mission accomplished.   UKC will be taking over completely in 2 weeks so if you have anything you want added to the database while still free send it NOW.   Regarding participation in ASCA (Australian Shepherd Club of America) events........the breed is listed there as both the Miniature Australian Shepherd and North American Shepherd.    You CAN participate in their herding and agility events as North American Shepherds with ASCA.    Since the Miniature Australian Shepherd Clubs are now proclaiming to be a "variety" and not a "breed" I do not know how ASCA will handle that issue since that is something new that has happened since their application was filed with ASCA years ago.   At least our club will have no problems with participation as we have never claimed anything but BREED STATUS vs variety status to the Australian Shepherd unlike the club representing the Miniature Australian Shepherd's new position.   ASCA allows "BREEDS" to participate so regardless of where the Miniature Australian Shepherd goes from here we are official with ASCA and our dogs have a home with their sporting events as North American Shepherds.
